Education is one of the noblest of vocations one can think of. It enriches the giver and the receiver alike. Jesus says that those who teach and lead others from darkness to light, from ignorance to knowledge especially the knowledge of right from wrong will shine like the stars in the heavens lighting up the lives of many around us.

We, as educators constantly ask ourselves, “ what more can we do for God and for our society?” Propelled by this driving force and recognizing the needs of the times and taking into consideration the desire of several people we finally started our Mary Ward Pre-School in 2012 in Nirmala Convent Girls’ Inter College campus. Our charismatic Foundress Mary Ward, looking ahead of her time, in 1609 realized the urgent need for the education of girls. She started with girls’ education as a first step to achieving her goal. Following her charism, the Congregation of Jesus (CJ sisters) carry on this challenging mission of empowering women by educating our girls to be strong women having confidence in themselves and are able to discern and make right choices in life.

On our Mary Ward Pre- School (L.K.G) we try to give our little ones a good foundation in the three Rs in a peaceful and friendly atmosphere of play and work. The children are taught reading, writing, counting, communicative skills, creative art etc. They are given basic training in cleanliness, self help, responsibility and group interaction. Respect for God’s creation and for one another, appreciating the surroundings, adjustment to environment, practicing good manners etc are instilled in the children through various outdoor and indoor activities.

Thanks to the cooperation of parents and the hard work and dedication of the teachers, all is well and we hope that our effort will take these young hearts to greater heights of knowledge and competence.
